Continuous Reporting

Continuous reporting (also known as progressive/ongoing feedback) is continuous sharing of assessment information with parents and carers throughout the year. Wayi School has adopted Continuous reporting instead of the traditional semester reporting. The main benefit of this model is that students and parents receive feedback in a ‘timely’ manner about how the child is progressing. End-of-semester reports are often seen as too little, too late, with insufficient targeted feedback and time for the student to improve their learning. Compass and Seesaw will be utilised to support continuous reporting.

SSG

Student Support Group (SSG)

A SSG will be held each term to give parents/carers and students (as appropriate) an opportunity to discuss student's educational, health, social, cultural and emotional wellbeing. This collaborative meeting supports the teacher with developing an Individual Education Plan (IEP).

IEP Goals

Individual Education Plan (IEP)

After completing assessments, collaborating with families and therapists the teacher writes the IEP goals. Each goal has a content descriptor code which is connected to the Victorian Curriculum.

Seesaw

Seesaw

Throughout the term teachers and students will post photos and videos as evidence to achieving the IEP goals. Teachers will tag the evidence to the specific goal that is being targeted. Students will also complete Seesaw activities as evidence of working towards a skill.

Complete

Teacher completes 5 Point Scale

At the end of term 2, 3 and 4 each teacher will document on the IEP how the student is progressing towards each goal. The classroom teacher will also write a general comment as an overview of the students growth.
