At Wayi, we are committed to creating innovative learning environments that nurture and develop all students through an ability and strength-based approach. Our purpose built school, with state of the art facilities supports us to collaboratively develop engaging learning programs that meet the needs of all students.
This includes our state of the art gymnasium with an attached health club for physical education classes, our daily Moving Minds program and the integration of learning through movement.
Our purpose built playgrounds and outdoor areas provide our students with opportunities to engage in play that meets their age, physical and developmental needs. These spaces are used throughout the day, with students utilising the range of equipment to support emotional and sensory regulation, develop gross motor skills, promote social skills development and as an outdoor learning space.
The engine room and retreat space have been developed in collaboration with our therapist team to ensure students’ emotional and sensory regulation are met throughout the day so they can engage in their learning meaningfully.
Our café is currently utilised by our VPC students to support their VET programs, with students learning hands on skills in food preparation and business skills. With future plans to expand the use of this space with our wider school community.
The STEAM, manufacturing room and art room are designed to support students to engage in hands on learning activities, with opportunities that include 3D printing, pottery and laser printing.
