KEY INFORMATION FOR THE WEEK

NATIONAL SORRY DAY 26TH MAY & NATIONAL RECONSILIATION WEEK 27TH MAY – 3RD JUNE

National Sorry Day, also known as the National Day of Healing, is held annually to commemorate the Stolen Generations. This day forms part of the ongoing efforts between Indigenous and Non-Indigenous Australians towards reconciliation.
National Reconciliation Week is widely celebrated by schools, workplaces, community organisations and individuals, and is a time for all Australians to learn about our shared histories, cultures, and achievements. The combined theme across these dates is ‘Now More Than Ever’, which encourages all Australians to be a voice for reconciliation.
To find out more about National Sorry Day and National Reconciliation Week, please visit: Reconciliation Victoria https://www.reconciliation.org.au/
This week, Wayi School will be acknowledging the significance of these dates, with students undertaking a variety of activities connected to our shared cultures.

The Annual Report provides an opportunity to share the school’s achievements and progress with the school community.

The Annual Report is prepared in 2 parts:

  • the performance summary, which details the school’s performance from the past year and trends over time. This is compiled by the department and is downloadable via the performance summary tab of the Annual Report in SPOT
  • the ‘About our school’ commentary, which is prepared by the principal and outlines the achievements of the school in the previous year.
