ROOM 23 & 24

Rooms 23 and 24 have embarked on the new Wayi Phonics (Literacy) program and are going great. Our students are now happily moving In between rooms to engage in work which is directly suited to their style and current level of English. Students have been focused on learning dictation with emphasis on starting a sentence with a capital letter and ending all sentences with a full stop. We have also started to learn about the question mark and the exclamation mark. Students have a variety of readings each week which helps with comprehension and then a strong focus on spelling using phonics as the base.

We are finding that our students engaged in the program and enjoy the lessons. It also means that students are now visiting new classrooms with various teachers and meeting students at the same time. Hooray for the Wayi Literacy Program.
