SCHOOL REVIEW – INVITATION TO PARTICIAPTE IN A PARENT/CARER FORUM
We highly value our parents/carers feedback and opinions as they are crucial to the development of our School Strategic Plan (SSP). Therefore, we invite you to join our Parent/Carer Forum, facilitated by our School Reviewer, Marie Hayes. This will be a relaxed and positive atmosphere where we want to hear from all of you.
The forum will take place on Tuesday, 6th August at 9am in the school Administration Building, and morning tea will be provided. If English is not your first language, an interpreter will be available to assist with communication.
Please follow below link to view letter from Principal, Leanne Sinnadurai, about how to participate in our School Review Parent/Carer Forum.
CHILD SAFETY AND WELLBEING AT WAYI SCHOOL – INFORMATION FOR FAMILIES AND SCHOOL COMMUNITY
Wayi School is committed to providing an environment where students are safe and feel safe.
Our child safety framework (https://wayischool.vic.edu.au/our-school/documents-policies-reports/) explains how we support and maintain child safety and wellbeing at Wayi School. It includes our:
- Child Safety and Wellbeing Policy
- Child Safety Reporting and Responding Obligations Procedures, and
- Child Safety Code of Conduct, which outlines acceptable and unacceptable behaviours for all staff and volunteers at our school.
Our students and families are important partners in providing a child safe environment. These regular newsletter reminders are one of the ways we ensure our school community is aware of:
- our commitment to child safety, and
- how to provide feedback or raise child safety concerns.
If you have any concerns about child safety at any time, please contact Wayi School at 73006600. Any child safety complaints or concerns are treated seriously. For more information about our school’s complaints process, see our Complaints Policy (https://wayischool.vic.edu.au/our-school/documents-policies-reports/)
We also welcome your ideas on ways we can improve our approach to child safety and wellbeing. If you have any suggestions or comments, please contact Wayi School on 7300 6600 or at wayi.school@education.vic.gov.au
PHOTOGRAPHING, FILMING AND RECORDING CONSENT
During the school year, there are many occasions and events where staff may photograph, film or record students participating in school activities and events. We do this for many reasons including to celebrate student participation and achievement, showcase particular learning programs, document a student’s learning journey/camps/excursions/sports events etc, and communicate with our parents and school community in newsletters.
Consent only needs to be given at the beginning of the student’s time at Wayi School. The school will provide annual reminders to parents about our Photographing, Filming and Recording Students Policy. To review the most recent Photographing, Filming and Recording Students Policy please visit the Wayi School Website.
Please log in to Compass and give consent through the Insights platform. See attached link if you need instructions on how to access Insights through Compass.
