STUDENT SUPPORT GROUP (SSG) MEETINGS
Student Support Group (SSG) meetings are a valuable opportunity for parents/carers, students, and school staff to work together in planning and supporting a student’s learning, wellbeing, and development. These meetings focus on your child’s Individual Education Plan (IEP), which outlines specific learning goals across key areas such as English, Mathematics, and Personal and Social Capabilities.
When and How
SSG meetings take place in Weeks 4 and 5 of each term. Meetings can be held in person, by phone, or via Microsoft Teams. Unless otherwise advised, we will assume your preference is to attend the meeting in person. If you’d prefer a phone or Teams meeting, please let your child’s teacher know.
If you need to make changes to your child’s usual departure, please notify the classroom teacher.
Student Involvement
Students are welcome and encouraged to attend their SSG meeting to share their thoughts about their learning. Please note that supervision is not available for students outside of the scheduled meeting time.
Bookings
Bookings will open on Compass from Monday of Week 3. Please log in and select a suitable time to meet with your child’s teacher.
If you have trouble accessing Compass or need help with booking, please contact the school office.
Arrival and Parking
Parent parking is available on Aitkin Boulevard. Please enter the school through the Durang (administration) building when attending your meeting.
We look forward to partnering with you to support your child’s continued growth and success.

‘LATTE WITH LEANNE’ COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS
All Wayi School community members are invited to have a ‘Latte with Leanne’ at Wayi School from 1:30pm-2:30pm this Monday, 4th May (Week 3).
Our special guest attendees for May 4th are Teagan Cullen, Wayi Schools Speech Pathology Leader, and Cara Suen, Wayi Schools Occupational Therapy Leader.
The main topics being discussed will be fostering positive mealtimes/introducing new foods and supporting communication.
Latte with Leanne’ Community Connections is a casual morning tea, aimed to build and strengthen our connections with our school community – depending on your strengths, availability, and motivation, the morning could involve:
– General conversation with other parents/carers/guardians (for those of you who just want to socialise and get to know other Wayi families)
– Resourcing support (for those of you who like to socialise but keep busy at the same time)
We hope to see you there!
