The Victorian Government is delivering the School Saving Bonus – a one-off $400 support for government school students from Prep to Year 12 in 2025.Â
From Tuesday 26 November 2024, you will receive an email from the Department of Education with your unique $400 School Saving Bonus code.Â
The School Saving Bonus will help families cover the cost of uniforms, textbooks, excursions, activities and more.Â
If you have multiple children enrolled in Victorian government schools for 2025, you will receive one School Saving Bonus code email per child. These emails might arrive on different days. Please make sure to check your spam/junk email folder.Â
Parents and carers can use the School Saving Bonus code in store at school-nominated suppliers. Parents and carers can also choose to access the School Saving Bonus online system, where they can allocate part or all the $400 bonus to use at school nominated-online suppliers or for school activities. Â
To learn more about the School Saving Bonus, visit School Saving Bonus | vic.gov.au (www.vic.gov.au). A step-by-step user guide will be available on the webpage on 26 November.
If you have not received your School Saving Bonus code via email by Friday 29 November, please contact the Department of Education by emailing school.saving.bonus@education.vic.gov.au
Please be advised that on the last day of the school year, students will finish at 1:00 pm. School buses will collect students at 1:00 pm from wayi School, so families who pick up their child from the bus stop should expect them two hours earlier than usual.
The early finish allows our staff to complete essential tasks, including packing up classrooms, preparing school spaces for thorough cleaning, emptying and cleaning appliances, and ensuring all security protocols are in place.
We hope this adjustment does not cause too much inconvenience and thank you for your understanding and support.
We have received confirmed approval for two relocatable buildings, adding a total of four new classrooms to our school. After coordinating with the Department of Education (DE) and Rendine, the relocatable provider, we’ve identified an ideal spot on the oval that minimizes impact on our playground spaces. These classrooms are expected to be delivered in January, ready for the new school year, and they represent a key step in accommodating our growing enrolment.
We are thrilled to announce that deposits have been paid for the redevelopment of the central plaza, Wurru Wurru playground, and the Room 15 & 16 Courtyard. These projects are scheduled for completion by the start of the 2025 school year, promising all abilities and engaging outdoor spaces for our students. These upgrades will enhance play and learning areas, supporting social interactions, sensory engagement, and physical activity.
Given the extensive capital works planned for the January holiday period, we have made the difficult decision not to offer a holiday program. After negotiating with TheirCare and the DE High Intensity OSHC Team, it was clear that student safety would be compromised with so many trades on site. We understand this may be an inconvenience for some families, and we appreciate your understanding and support in prioritising student safety
