SEESAW MESSAGES REMINDER

Please be reminded that during school hours (8:40 – 3:00), our teacher’s main responsibility is to be teaching students in the classroom. They are unable to read or reply to messages during the day. Seesaw Messages are accessed by our classroom teachers before and after school (8:30 – 8:40, 3:00 – 4:30), this is when you should expect communication.

If you have an urgent message to pass on during school hours, please contact the school on 7300 6600.

Your support in this matter allows for the best possible outcomes for our students. Thank you.

SSR TRAVEL PASSES

Travel Passes are a pre-paid paper 30-day pass available for both primary and secondary school students experiencing crisis and who are at risk of disengaging from education. This ensures they can continue to attend school, receive an education and participate in school activities, and access support services. Schools can issue a Travel Pass for free to students in crisis primarily to travel to school, but also for other reasons, such as travelling to:

  • a medical or rehabilitation appointment
  • a counselling session; or
  • temporary or crisis accommodation.

Applications are made through State School’s Relief.  Physical cards are mailed to the school for validation and allocation.

For further information about the Travel Pass or to arrange an application, please contact Lisa McFadyen (Acting Assistant Principal) or Kye Kelly (Student Engagement & Wellbeing Leader) on 7300 6600.

‘LATTE WITH LEANNE’ COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS – THIS THURSDAY

All Wayi School community members are invited to have a ‘Latte with Leanne’ at Wayi School from 10:00am – 11:00am on Thursday the 14th of November.

Our special guest attendee for November 14th is Lachlan Berryman, Wayi School’s Operations Leader. Lachlan’s roles and responsibilities include overseeing our VPC Program, implementation of the Horticulture Program, organising excursions and school camps, and daily school operations and staffing management.

Please use the below link to RSVP:

RSVP’s will close on Tuesday the 12th of November. If you have RSVPed, but are unable to attend, please notify the school as soon as possible as this will assist us with booking a suitable space and organising sufficient catering.

‘Latte with Leanne’ Community Connections is a casual morning tea, aimed to build and strengthen our connections with our school community – depending on your strengths, availability, and motivation, the morning could involve:

– General conversation with other parents/carers/guardians (for those of you who just want to socialise and get to know other Wayi families)

– Resourcing support (for those of you who like to socialise but keep busy at the same time) ‎

We hope to see you there!
