This term Room 11 have been focusing on exploring Statistics and Probability. To ensure it is hands on and accessible for our students, we have been focusing on concrete materials, whole group games and exercises, and signals such as ‘thumbs up’ and ‘thumbs down’. As a group we have been exploring our favourite foods, colours and animals. We have been making tallies, as well as answering ‘yes’ or ‘no’ (verbally, sign, with AAC) to questions such as “Is the Monkey brown?” The class has absolutely loved working together as a group and have enjoyed tallying up the group’s favourite activities (The winner was going to the beach!). These sessions have helped with our teamwork skills, as well as problem solving and counting. Moving forward, we will continue to make our sessions fun and engaging, with added challenges along the way to continue extending our skills. Great job Room 11!
