PRINCIPALS DAY – FRIDAY AUGUST 2ND

STUDENT REPRESENTATIVE COUNCIL (SRC)
Student Representative Council (SRC) has begun at Wayi School!
SRC is an opportunity for students to develop their voice, agency and leadership skills, by playing an important part in school decision-making. Involvement in SRC allows students to share in decisions on school issues, build relationships and community spirit, respond to student concerns and needs and bring about change. In Term 3 the Wellbeing Team presented to the Secondary classes the essential features of a SRC. Students were able to self-nominate through a nomination form with teacher and ES support.
Congratulations to our SRC Members for 2024:
Vala – Rm 17
Seth – Rm 17
Mohamad – Rm 17
Alex – Rm 19
Ruby – Rm 20
Jim – Rm 11
The nominated students have already met as a group to share their ideas and feedback with members of the Leadership team to help plan upcoming school events and will be officially congratulated in an upcoming WayiTV episode, where they will receive a certificate along with their SRC badge. This episode will be shared on Seesaw as well as in the Gym for students to view.
In Term 4 to prepare for 2025, the current SRC will present to all classes with students in the equivalent grades 4 and above. Students will be able to nominate themselves or a peer through a nomination form. A campaign period will allow students to create posters, and videos and participate in a WayiTV episode to explain to all of the Wayi students why they should be voted into the 2025 SRC.
If you would like any further information about the Student Representative Council, please feel free to contact Kye Kelly, Student Engagement & Wellbeing Leader on 7300 6600.
