School Council plays an important role in the governance of our school. We encourage parents, carers and guardians to consider nominating as a council member for the 2026/2027 School Council. No prior experience is required, as members are supported with opportunities to learn ‘on the job’. Meetings take place twice a term on Wednesdays from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.
Please note that all nominees must hold a current Working with Children Check prior to nominating.
All available vacancies are outlined in the tile attached.
We encourage parent/carers/guardians to consider nominating themselves or another member of our school community.
Nominations close at 4:00pm on Thursday 19th February 2026.
For further information, please contact us on 03 7300 6600.
To obtain a nomination form, please email wayi.school@education.vic.gov.au. Hard copies are also available from the Admin Building or can be sent home in your child’s school bag.

Throughout the week, students engaged in a range of maths experiences focusing on number recognition and forward counting. Learning activities incorporated songs, visual number lines, and hands-on tasks to support student engagement and understanding.
Students had opportunities to practise recognising numbers and matching quantities using concrete and creative materials. These experiences allowed students to demonstrate their current understanding and develop confidence with early counting skills.

In maths in room 2, we focused on numbers during this activity. We read The Very Hungry Caterpillar and then completed a caterpillar worksheet where the children used their fingerprints to show the correct number and create a caterpillar. This activity helped us get a sense of what the students already know.
