Our term 3 classroom information session for parents/carers only will be held this Wednesday, July 30th (week 2), starting promptly at 4pm and concluding at 4.30pm.
The focus for our term 3 session will be on our structured literacy/phonics program and skills students are developing as well as school communications and daily processes.
We understand that it can be difficult to obtain supervision for students during this time and to further support participation in the sessions, families will also be able to join in online.
We look forward to seeing you online or in person for this session.
All Wayi School community members are invited to have a ‘Latte with Leanne’ at Wayi School from 1:30pm-2:30pm on Wednesday 6th August (Week 6).
Our special guest attendees for August 6th are Natasa Vignjevic-Jockovic, Wayi School’s Student Enrolment and Transitions Leader, and Charisse Garcia, one of Wayi Schools Learning Specialists & our Literacy Leader.
The main topic being discussed will be the Disability Inclusion Process and our Phonics Program.
If you would like to attend, please RSVP using the following link: https://forms.office.com/r/LxZe92NiXt
Latte with Leanne’ Community Connections is a casual morning tea, aimed to build and strengthen our connections with our school community – depending on your strengths, availability, and motivation, the morning could involve:
– General conversation with other parents/carers/guardians (for those of you who just want to socialise and get to know other Wayi families)
– Resourcing support (for those of you who like to socialise but keep busy at the same time)
We hope to see you there!
For Term 3 2025, we are learning signs relating to our Play With Me Program!
Play
Performance: With both hands spread, palms facing upwards, at waist height, move each hand in outwards circles.
The students in Room 1 have been busily buzzing with excitement as they dive into the wonderful world of letters and sounds! From singing catchy phonics songs to spotting letters all around them, our young learners have been making fantastic progress in connecting sounds to letters. They’ve been practicing their letter formation with great focus, and it’s been amazing to watch their confidence grow as they begin to blend sounds to read simple words.
Every day brings new lightbulb moments and proud smiles as they master the building blocks of reading and writing. Room 1 is truly a hive of learning and laughter, we’re so proud of our clever, curious little learners!
