PEDESTRIAN GATE RELOCATED

We would like to inform you about an important change regarding our school’s pedestrian gate. Moving forward, we will no longer be using the gate on Grand Blvd for student drop-off/pick-up (this is not the parent carpark gate, this gate will run as normal once the carpark becomes available), Instead, the gate near the Admin building will be the new pedestrian gate.

The drop-off/pick-up procedure will remain the same—parents and carers will wait outside the gate until a staff member is available to safely transition students into class. This change has been made to minimise the number of gates students need to pass through, ensuring a smoother and more efficient transition into school.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation!

TERM 2 CLASSROOM INFORMATION SESSION

Our term 2 classroom information session for parents/carers only will be held this Wednesday April 30th starting promptly at 4pm and concluding at 4.30pm.

This term the focus is on food technology and a brief recap of areas discussed in term 1 (use of seesaw, Compass, late arrivals, absences).

We understand that it can be difficult to obtain supervision for students during this time and to further support participation in the sessions, families will also be able to join in online.

We look forward to seeing you online or in person for this session.

‘LATTE WITH LEANNE’ COMMUNITY CONNECTIONS – WEDNESDAY 7TH MAY

All Wayi School community members are invited to have a ‘Latte with Leanne’ at Wayi School from 1:30pm – 2:30pm next Wednesday 7th May.

Our special guest attendees for May 7th are Teagan Cullen, Wayi School’s Speech Pathology Leader and Winnie, Wayi Schools Wellbeing Dog.

If you would like to attend, please fill out the RSVP form via the link below:

Latte with Leanne’ Community Connections is a casual morning tea, aimed to build and strengthen our connections with our school community – depending on your strengths, availability, and motivation, the morning could involve:

– General conversation with other parents/carers/guardians (for those of you who just want to socialise and get to know other Wayi families)
– Resourcing support (for those of you who like to socialise but keep busy at the same time) ‎

We hope to see you there!

ROOM 21

In our Maths: Statistics and Probability lessons we have been developing our language around the concept of Chance.

We have been playing games with different levels of chances such as coin toss investigations (1 in 2 chances), paper/scissors/rock investigation (1 in 3 chances) and dice roll investigations (1 in 6 chances) and participating in class discussions about events that are likely, unlikely, impossible or certain.

Now we can answer questions like:

-How likely is it that I will eat lunch today?

-What are the chances that I will win bingo today?

-Will I see a train in the sky today?

Great work Room 21! 🙂
