WASTE FREE LUNCH – WEDNESDAY 10TH JUNE

During Media Arts this term, students in Rooms 19, 23 and 24 have been learning about the health of our oceans and the impact that rubbish can have on marine life. As part of their learning, they have developed a project to raise awareness about caring for our environment and reducing waste.

To support this project, we will be holding a Waste Free Lunch on Wednesday 10 June. We encourage all students to bring their lunch in reusable containers where possible to help reduce the amount of rubbish produced at school.

As part of their project, students will also be creating an environmental-themed artwork that will be showcased at our annual Art Show in Term 4.

Thank you for supporting our students as they learn about protecting our environment and making positive choices for the future.

ROOMS 16 & 17

Continuous Reporting Focus – Critical and Creative Thining

Room 16

This semester, Room 16 students have been working towards developing simple social skills, including attending to others and taking turns during structured activities. Through a variety of hands-on learning experiences, games, group tasks, and collaborative activities, students have been encouraged to engage with their peers, wait for their turn, and participate alongside others. Many students have shown growth in their ability to share materials, follow turn-taking routines, and attend to the actions and communication of those around them. These important social skills support positive relationships, communication, and participation in learning, and we are proud of the progress our students have made throughout the semester.

Room 17

In Room 17, students are developing their Creative and Critical Thinking skills through participation in familiar routines, sensory experiences, and everyday learning opportunities. Students are learning to reflect on recent experiences by communicating their emotional responses and demonstrating preferences for activities, people, and environments. They are building their ability to communicate their needs, make choices, and request assistance when required.
Through consistent daily routines, students are becoming more familiar with classroom expectations and are responding to changes in their environment, interactions with others, and transitions throughout the day. Repetition of routines supports students to anticipate what comes next and engage more confidently in learning experiences.
Students are encouraged to explore information and ideas through active participation in structured and routine-based activities. These opportunities allow them to develop confidence, independence, and engagement while expressing their thoughts, preferences, and reactions to their learning experiences. It has been wonderful to see students growing in confidence, strengthening their communication skills, and actively participating in classroom experiences, creating a positive and supportive learning environment for all.
