Latte with Leanne’ Community Connections is a casual morning tea, aimed to build and strengthen our connections with our school community – depending on your strengths, availability, and motivation, the morning could involve:
– General conversation with other parents/carers/guardians (for those of you who just want to socialise and get to know other Wayi families)
– Resourcing support (for those of you who like to socialise but keep busy at the same time) ‎
We hope to see you there!

CLASS IN FOCUS

ROOM 19

This term, Room 19 has been taking a multisensory approach to learning the letters of the alphabet and their sounds. Alongside building our letter-sound knowledge, we have been developing fine motor skills by constructing, tracing, and writing each letter.

To ensure plenty of practice and consolidation, we focus on one letter every two weeks. We use a variety of hands-on materials, such as blocks, toy animals, pipe cleaners, and pom-poms, to develop our letter formation and recognition. We also engage in sensory-based activities like tracing letters in sensory trays before transitioning to writing on paper.

Our phonics learning has been reinforced through engaging activities, including letter crafts, alliteration sentences, themed stories, and interactive games. Room 19 has been working hard and having lots of fun exploring letters in creative ways!
