WAYI SCHOOL WELCOME CELEBRATION – THIS FRIDAY 3RD OF MAY

To formally acknowledge and celebrate our connections with our wonderful school community, we are hosting a Wayi Welcome Celebration this Friday 3rd May 2024 from 4.30pm – 6pm.

The celebration will commence with an Indigenous Welcome to Country smoking ceremony and Dance Performance by Koorie Youth Will Shakes Spear Group, followed by various other celebratory activities such as face painting, crafts, native animal encounters and more.

We look forward to sharing this special celebration with as many of you as possible.

*Please note RSVPs were due last Friday, April 26th. If you did not RSVP and would like to attend, please email the school email*

SCHOOL PHOTO DAY – WEDNESDAY MAY 1ST

Our 2024 school photo day is in week 3 of Term 2, on Wednesday the 1st of May. Students will be bringing their photo envelopes home with them this week. Families can place orders online or by placing correct monies in the photo envelope and returning it to school.

Please note as payments are made directly to the photography company, National Photography, we are unable to provide change or accept eftpos payments for school photo orders.

STUDENT SUPPORT GROUPS (SSG)

A Student Support Group (SSG) is a partnership between the school, parents/guardians, and student. The group works together to plan and support the student’s educational, health, social, cultural and emotional well-being. SSG meetings are held termly in week 5 and week 6, and allow teachers, parents/carers and the student an opportunity to discuss your child’s Individual Education Plan (IEP). They may occur in person, on the phone or on Microsoft Teams. It will be assumed that the meeting will take place in person, please notify the classroom teacher if you would like the SSG meeting to occur over the phone or via Microsoft Teams.

Bookings will be available on Compass from 6/5/24. Please log in to Compass and choose a time slot to book a meeting time with the teacher. Please contact the school if you have any issues logging into Compass or booking a time for the SSG.

Parent parking is available on Aitkin Boulevard, please enter the school via the Darrang Building (administration building).
