END OF YEAR CELEBRATION DAY

On Wednesday the 13th of December We had our End of Year Celebration Day.

This day was held as a way to celebrate the achievements and hard work of our students throughout the year and consisted of exciting activities including Santa visits, a silent disco (including glow sticks and face paint), Christmas movies and special lunch orders.

It was amazing to see the excitement on our students faces and seeing everyone in high spirits throughout the entire day. we hope everyone had the best day.

FIRST DAY OF TERM 1 2024

YEAR 1-12 STUDENTS

The first day of Term 1 2024 is on Tuesday the 30th of January. School will return as normal for students with a 9:00am start and 3:00pm finish.

NEW PREP STUDENTS

All new prep students will have a delayed start with a slow extension of the day for the first two weeks. A slower transition can help alleviate stress and anxiety for both students and parents. Allowing students to enter the school at a more relaxed time during the initial weeks helps them become familiar with the school setting and routines. A gradual introduction to the school routine can contribute to a positive and successful experience for the students as they begin their school journey.

Week 1: 30th January – 2nd February        9:30am-12:30pm

Week 2: 5th February – 9th February         9:30am-2:00pm

Remainder of the year                                       9:00am-3:00pm

Prep students who have applied for bus transportation will not start on the bus until week 3.

SEESAW MESSAGES

We are changing the program we use to communicate between the classroom and home, moving from Compass Connect to Seesaw Messages. Seesaw Messages provides a range of functions not available via Compass Connect, including the ability to translate. Families and teachers will continue to communicate about the daily needs of each child within an individual message room between the teachers working within the classroom and family members.

Notifications of whole school events and information will continue to be delivered through our whole school communication systems, including Seesaw Messages and Announcements, Compass, Wayi Word, the Wayi Website and social media.

The change to Seesaw Messages will occur from Monday the 18th of December 2023, when we set up the classes on Seesaw with the 2024 class groups.

Please see the attached Family Guide on using Seesaw Messages for more information or contact the school if you would like support accessing this feature.
